Feel Better

1. EAT HEALTHY

I love sugar just as much as the next person, probably more), but eating healthy isn’t as frightening as it sounds (or tastes, sometimes.)
- there are thousands of recipes you can create from various healthy foods like fruits and vegetables
- you’ll have more energy from eating healthy
- you’ll probably lose weight in the process
- your skin will benefit, along with other aspects that the foods are good for (carrots= better eyesight, apples=healthier heart, etc.)

To keep the body in good health is a duty… Otherwise, we shall not be able to keep our mind song and clear." -Buddha

2. TAKE CARE OF YOUR SKIN

Skincare is for everyone, and no one should feel embarrassed for taking care of their skin.
- improves skin (less acne, smoother feeling)
- “fresh” feeling
- more confidence and better self-esteem
- helps prevent wrinkles and blocked pore
(Skincare is NOT limited to the face, either.)

Don’t forget that healing takes time. Don’t expect to try meditation and a new skincare line and end up with perfect skin in a week. Give yourself the gift of time and patience. The body is a complicated, miraculous system and each body processes change in its own time.”  -Yancy Lael, Glowing: Soulful Skincare

3. GET ENOUGH SLEEP

Sleep is probably in the top 5 of most important things in my life, always.
- less headaches and helps relieve stress
- more energy and focus
- improves memory
- and, of course, you’ll be less sleepy

Sleep is that golden chain that ties health and our bodies together." - Thomas Dekker

4. KILL THEM WITH KINDNESS

You’ve heard “don’t fight fire with fire" and "two wrongs don’t make a right"… And they’re all correct.
just be a nice person!!!

Be nice to nice.-Harry Styles

5. EXERCISE

The time taken to actually work up the energy, motivation and nerve to work out is much worse than actually working out.
- there are various ways to exercise- I can promise you’ll find one you enjoy
- you’ll maintain a healthy weight and build muscle
- you’ll feel way better about yourself
- you’ll sleep better
- helps fight off diseases and increases heart health

Your body is a machine. Learn the right way to take care of it." -Candice Swanepoel

6. MENTAL HEALTH DAY

EVERYONE should know how important mental health is to being happy and content.
- if you’re feeling super overwhelmed, taking a day off is not the end of the world
- maybe catch up on sleep
- maybe catch up on work to relieve stress of the work-load you might have
- just relax, you deserve it

It’s up to you today to start making healthy choices. Not choices that are just healthy for your body, but healthy for your mind.” -Steve Maraboli, Unapologetically You: Reflections on Life and the Human Experience

7. TAKE BATHS

People have to stop hating on baths, they’re so comforting and relaxing and good for you!
- relieve stress
- induce sleep and relaxation
- “mood-booster”
*Pay attention to what you use- good bubble baths and candles are worth the cost for your contentment

There must be a few things that a hot bath won’t cure, but I don’t know many of them." -Sylvia Plath

8. WRITE YOUR THOUGHTS

You don’t have to be good with a pen to be able to copy down your thoughts. Writing down negative thoughts (or even the positive ones) can definitely help relieve your mind.
- reduce stress
- help solve some problems you may have
- clarify your thoughts and feelings
- writing goals helps you achieve them more effectively
- help you know yourself better and focus more

Writing, to me, is simply thinking through my fingers." -Isaac Asimov

9. GO FOR A WALK

Taking ten minutes to organize your thoughts out in the fresh air can do you, your soul and mind a world of good. Your body, too.
- proven to improve mental health
- lowers stress
- positive effects on mood
- boosts creative thinking

In every walk with nature, one receives far more than they seek." -John Muir

10. TAKE TIME TO DO SOMETHING YOU ENJOY

We have hobbies for a reason- because we enjoy doing them. When was the last time you did something that you enjoyed leisurely?
- read that book you’ve been wanting to read for weeks
- binge-watch a show you love
- play a sport/instrument you like AND DO IT FOR FUN
DO WHAT YOU ENJOY DOING AND DO IT FOR YOU

A hobby a day keeps the doldrums away.-Phyllis McGinley

11. LISTEN TO MUSIC

Never trust someone who can honestly say that they don’t like music.
- motivational
- increases work out endurance
- reduces stress and elevates mood
- ACTUALLY improves sleep quality

Music can change the world because it can change people." -Bono

12. GET INSPIRED

Follow people, read things, listen to things that inspire you to be the best you can.
- following Twitter or Instagram accounts that post motivational pictures or quotes
- following people that post positive things or make you happy
-  purchase an inspiring books (books that are actually written to make people happier, inspired, motivated, like 14, 000 Things to be Happy About)
- travel places (other cities/countries, or just somewhere in town) that make you happy and interested

You can’t wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club.” -Jack London

13. LIKE WHATEVER YOU WANT

I think Harry Styles is one of the loveliest people on Earth. I like Taylor Swift’s music but I also have the entire discography of Guns N’ Roses in my iTunes Library.
- like people who make you happy (and others), famous or not
▻ don’t let anyone make you feel bad for who you like, you have nothing to         prove to them
- like what music you like, if it makes you happy, it’s all that matters
- just like whatever you want, no one has the right to tell you that you shouldn’t just because they don’t feel the same
remember: just because someone likes a certain thing doesn’t mean they’re limited to that one type/genre/style
BE YOUR OWN PERSON: LIKE WHAT YOU WANT, WEAR WHAT YOU WANT, DO WHAT YOU WANT, DON’T BE SOMEONE ELSE

Always be yourself, express yourself, have faith in yourself, do not go out ad look for a successful personality and duplicate it." -Bruce Lee

14. DRINK TEA

If you don’t like tea, you might still want to drink it after this.
- boosts exercise endurance
- reduces risk of heart attack
- hydrates the body (despite the caffeine)
- helps the skin
*GREEN TEA ESPECIALLY BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY

The art of tea, whichever way you drink it, or whichever country you are from, has one underlining thread for all of us. It is the cultivation of yourself as you follow the ceremony of preparing your tea, the way in which you make your tea, how and where you drink it, and with whom. Making a cup of tea creates a space for just being.” -Nicola Salter

15. TREAT YOURSELF

LAST, BUT NOT LEAST.
- buy something for yourself, every paycheque
- after a week of dieting, splurge on something that you definitely should;t eat, but deserve to
- after a week of exercising everyday, take a day off to take a bath, sleep and give your body a rest
- if you don’t do well on something, remember it isn’t the end of the world and reward yourself for trying your best with a little gift. From you, to you.
- put yourself first

Love yourself first, and everything else falls in line. You really have to love yourself to get anything done in this world.” –Lucille Ball
