Went to Michaels to get Chickadee a little coffin. Cody came along with me in the Cody-purse.
A kid floating around on one of the electric scooters noticed Cody and they made friends. He scooted off and into a center display, we lol'd and said goodbye.
I got my stuff and then went next door to PetSmart to get piggeh food.
The little dude migrated over there too and found me.
(No idea where his mama was o_O)
He pointed out the budgies that were kinda like Cody. I got to tell him about how awesome they are and that I’m a bird nerd.
"Aw you’re not a nerd." He said in a nice way. I told him being a nerd isn’t a bad thing. It means you’re passionate about something. He floated around the animal sections pointing at the critters and I would ramble random facts about them seeing how I’ve had experience with most of them during my life.
Maybe one day he’ll be an animal nerd too..! He took a real shine to reptiles. Now I wanna go volunteer with kids to teach them how to be nature nerds. I was taught to love nature when I was young too.
I asked about a budgie with an nose issue and was told there is a vet on staff to keep an eye on the animals. I was very happy the hear that. I also gave the peep my card if someone was interested in a rescue bird, and she was super cool with that. She also loved on Cody.
It’s so tough for me to socialize. I was even thinking “Ugh, I don’t wanna talk to people, I don’t want to be in the general public. Maybe I should get order off amazon.” But this ended up being a good experience.
